It features a lions mask above the dial and an urn with flaming finial. To the side of the dial are goddess and entwined foliage.

The dial is enamel on copper with a cast brass centre and is complete with original blued steel hands. Glass is bevelled and convex.
The French movement is by the famous maker Japy Freres and has their 'Grande Medaille de Honour' mark on the movement backplate, dating the clock to after 1888. It is of high quality and is the large plate version of the Pendule de Paris movement. We have stripped, cleaned and fully overhauled the movement. We then tested the movement for at least 2 weeks to prove its reliability. Pendulum is original. Duration of the movement is 8 days between winding and it sounds the hours and half-hours on a sonorous bell. Below we have a video of the movement running and striking.

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding. The dial is also in excellent condition, no chips or scratches.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
