A stunning 19th.century Biedermeier double sleigh bed. Constructed from fine figured mahogany, the panelled headboard of bowed form and having a superb shaped cresting rail with applied honeysuckle and scrolling fauna carving. The four corners of the bed have turned and reeded columns with carved finials and reeded legs. The footboard having a concave centre with wrap around ends and a superb flame mahogany panel with conforming carved cresting rail. There are shaped side rails which support and conceal the slatted base. This fine bed will take a standard 4 foot 6 inch mattress and transports in 5 pieces. Outer Sizes :- Width... 60''/ 152.5cm.
