A very fine, solid silver Egg cup and spoon christening set, in the original case. The egg cup is a lovely simple design; highly polished silver with an attractive beaded rim running around the top. Clear hallmarks and maker''s marks are visible on the side of the egg cup: Birmingham 1910 by the renowned silversmiths: Adie Brothers.The matching spoon is also a lovely polised silver with no engravings. The same hallmarks and maker''s marks are also visible on the back of the spoon handle.This set is encased in the original box, made from a wood effect brown leatherette exterior with a nice brass coloured fastener. The interior of the box is embellished with a pale cream satin to the inside lid, with the jeweller''s name printed upon it: Jay''s 56 Kings Road, Brighton.
