A Gents 9 Carat Gold Art Deco Wrist Watch, 1929

Description

A gents 9 carat gold Art Deco wrist watch, 1929.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement with 15 jewels which is working nicely.

The watch itself is a good size at 25.5mm wide excluding the winding crown and 33.5mm high excluding the lugs (42mm high including the lugs). The hinged case back is hallmarked for Glasgow (import mark), 1929. Overall the case is in good condition… there is a small split to the side of the case, only about 1mm long.

The convex lens is in good condition.

The charming Art Deco dial has a textured sunburst style pattern, original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and a minute track. There is some age related darkening to the dial but it is still easy to read the time.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
