An Antique Waltham Traveler Full Hunter Pocket Watch

An antique Waltham Traveler full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed and the serial number 12,616,288 dates it back to 1903. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and it has engine turned detail to both the front and back, with a small cartouche to the front. There are a couple of small pin prick indentations and also some rubbing to the engine turned detail.

The winding stem pushes in to open the front cover… there is a little play to the hinge but it is safe. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition. It is very common for the original glass lenses to be replaced and we see this often… it is difficult to tell the difference as they look so similar but they are a lot more durable.

The signed white enamel dial looks good to the naked eye. Upon closer inspection with a jeweller’s loupe, there is a short faint hairline over the number 2. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
