A fine black forest carved wood double inkwell c.1860 depicting an apple & a pear sat on top of a spray of leaves sprouting off a branch, the two fruits are hinged at the back & open to reveal a well in each for either a porcelain or glass liner. This superbly carved inkwell has an extremely life like appearance, it has two very small old nibbles on the front leaves otherwise is in excellent condition.
