Description

A 19th Century Meat Plate.

The rim decorated with a continuous trail of wild flowers, surrounding the centre, glimpsed through a grotto entrance. The romantic Arcadian scene , showing a river side, beside which three men fish, and a group fill large water vessels. In the background a group meet on a bridge, and people stand a the top of a castle tower admiring this view. Further cupola topped boat houses and Italianate buildings fill the scene.

The rear marked for 'Clew Stone China'.

Amusingly in the foreground a dog sniffs inside a broken barrel.

Width 17 inches, depth 13 inches.
