Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
In lovely clean condition, this trunk was made to a private commission by a family travelling to and from India in the late 19th Century and bears the brass inlaid initials of the owner. A wonderful and unusual item with a superb colour, perfect to use for extra storage or as a coffee table.
