George III Mahogany Butlers Tray & Stand

Description

A George III Mahogany Butlers Tray.

The oval sides moving from the horizontal to the vertical, on brass ratchet hinges. Each side with a shaped open hand hold. The centre of the tray panelled with four rectangles of flame mahogany held between the rails, with thumb mould borders. The whole standing on a folding stand, the legs joined by stretchers.

Date c 1780.

Height 29 1/2 inches, width 36 inches, depth 30 inches. (dimensions with sides horizontal)
