Large Victorian Walnut Planter

19th century
Description

An attractive large and freestanding Victorian walnut and ormolu mounted planter with original lid and tin liner. Supported on French style cabriole legs with cushion moulded frieze and inlaid with kingwood cross banding between boxwood and ebony lines. The top with a good cast brass gallery and further mounts to the front, sides, knees and feet.

This style of planter was used to display flowering plants , when not in bloom the plants and liner were removed and the lid replaced lending the planter to be used as a side table or lamp table etc.. More photos available.

Sizes- Max.Width...33''/ 84cm. Max.Depth...20''/ 51cm. Height...31.5''/ 80cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £45.
