Georgian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase. Circa 1765

18th century
Description

Fine George III figured Cuban mahogany bureau bookcase. The top section having thirteen pane astrigal glazed doors enclosing the original adjustable shelves and is surmounted with a great broken arch pediment with dentil decoration and central original urn. The bureau with four long oak lined drawers with original brass handles and iron locks. The well fitted interior having drawers and pigeon holes with central cupboard section with pulls out to reveal two secret drawers. The whole in fine original condition with virtually no repairs. Is a wonderful rich colour with fine waxed patina. A very fine example in great original condition.

Size; 38" wide, 20" deep, 92" high. Fall 30" high when open.
