A splendid Victorian policeman’s truncheon painted green (though it appears before it was a light blue colour) The truncheon is gilded with decoration depicting the Queens VR motif above a crown with a shield below around which the Anglo-Norman maxim reads “May he be shamed who thinks badly of it”. This fabulous Victorian truncheon has clearly seen use which adds to its appeal, a good authentic piece of history.
