Description

Excellent quality large late 19th.c. mahogany double sided pedestal desk by the celebrated English cabinet makers Maple & Co, c.1890. 54" x 33" top with a leather work surface and gadrooned edge over three drawers and a writing slide to both sides. Raised on twin pedestals each with three drawers of graduated depth to one side and a lockable cupboard to the other. Superb original brass handles and hinge plates, shaped drawer fronts and unusual and decorative raised mouldings to the door panels. Solid mahogany side panels and drawer linings. Stamped for Maple & Co on both centre drawers. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied. Splits into three pieces for ease of delivery. Also, the desk can be arranged to have one set of drawers and one cupboard facing forward if preferred.
