~ French - Circa 1880 ~
~~ Excellent condition fully working ~~
A beautiful antique French clock set, well made in brass. The clock is architecturally styled as a gothic ruin, covered in entwined foliage. It is surmounted by an urn and stands on scroll feet.
Candelabra are similarly bold and large and have four branches.

The dial is cream enamel on copper and is complete with original blued steel hands. The back door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.
The French movement is by Louis Japy and has the clockmakers 1878 mark on the movement backplate. It is of high quality and is clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear, discolouration or tarnish. Candelabra are slightly distorted. The dial is also in excellent condition with just some very slight chipping around the right hand winding hole.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
