Edwardian Mahogany Writing Table

1900 - 1920
Description

An appealing mahogany writing table from the Edwardian period. Well made in solid mahogany and attractive flame mahogany veneers in the manner of Thomas Chippendale. The serpentine shaped top is fitted with a sumptuous brown leather writing surface and is surrounded to the edges with carved gadrooning. There is a central long drawer, flanked by a pair of shorter, deeper drawers. This pair of drawers are compartmentalised. The whole table stands on elegant cabriole legs with carved detailing to their knees and terminating in "hairy paw" feet. The table is finished to the back so could be free standing within a room if desired. It is offered for sale in excellent condition, with a great colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home or office.
