Description

Superb quality Edwardian adjustable reading stand by Foots of London c.1910. Unusual chromed example with ebonised stands. Height adjustable and cleverly designed to fit beside a chair or bed to be used as either a flat table or sloped stand for a book or sheet music, or even a laptop or tablet perhaps. Original small circular secondary stand for a lamp or drink. The angle of the book rest/table is adjusted with a sprung button at the top of the upright and loosening the screw at the rear allows it be rotated in 90 degree increments. On a heavy cast iron base with ball and claw feet and castors to the front. Excellent condition with original maker’s label to the underside. The page stays are recent replacements.
