Lady's Walnut Fitted Dressing & Jewellery Box

Description

A good quality Victorian walnut LADY'S DRESSING/JEWELLERY BOX in excellent original condition.

The burr walnut dome-top box itself opens to reveal the well fitted interior with 12 engraved silver-topped jars and bottles and a tray of original implements. Within the lid is a concealed mirror whilst to the base is a well-fitted velvet-lined jewellery drawer.

A further drawer with "secret" locking can be found to one side, whilst hinges; lock etc are all engraved. Hallmarked for London 1874. 12ins (30.5cms) wide.

**The lid has a circular cartouche to the centre engraved: "Ella Waddle; January 23rd 1875"
