Japanese Meiji Period IVory Shibayama & Silver Toggle

A fabulous Japanese Meiji period ivory toggle (perhaps for fastening a tobacco pouch?) beautifully decorated with shibayama work on all sides depicting butterflies and flowers in abalone & mother of pearl, this piece has a silver mon on one side with a silver link on the other for attaching to a cord. Finished with a silver mounted base this unusual toggle is in excellent condition with no damage.
