Antique Georgian Oak Bureau Astragal Glazed Bookcase on Chest C1780

Description

Antique georgian oak bureau bookcase of quality oak and dating from aorund 1780. It has a cornice top with deep frieze above two astragal glazed doors with brass divider to the front and with working key and three adjustable shelves. The fall front opens to reveal four pigeon holes to the centreabove one long drawer and to either side is a bank of seven drawers all with small brass knob handles. To the chest there are two short drawers over three long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined and with later brass handles. It is moulded to the base and stands on bracket feet.

This lovely bureau bookcase is in very good original condition with no repairs or damage and is of quality oak with a deep colour and patination.

It measures: 85" high X height to top of bureau 42" X knee height 30" X 21" deep X internal depth (top) 9.5" X 43" wide
