A splendid circular papier mache snuff box c.1850 hand painted on the front with a jolly gentleman drinking a beer and smoking a pipe, the underside of the lid is also hand painted with what appears to be a man’s head in profile but on closer inspection the face is made up of nude women entwined together. This lovely snuff box has some age-related crackling and papier mache nibbles commensurate with age and use.
