Description

Remarkable pair of Gothic style throne armchairs, probably dating from the early 20th.c. in their current form but including 18th.c timbers. Beautiful ogee or Venetian Gothic arch shaped backrests with carved decoration and topped with tall removable finials. Over board seats and superb blind tracery panels to the sides and front carved with repeating arched window forms. Flat arms with column form fronts. Old damage and worm holes to some of the older timbers, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. The removable back panels have been freshly upholstered in a quality patterned fabric by Zoffany.
