A 1929 Elgin Full Hunter Pocket Watch

An Elgin full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed and the serial number 31,605,342 which dates it back to 1929. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and it is in good condition with just light surface marks, nothing serious at all. The engine turned detail to both the front and the back of the case is still nice and crisp.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in lovely condition. It is very common for the original glass lenses to be replaced and we see this often… it is difficult to tell the difference as they look so similar but they are a lot more durable.

The white enamel dial is in lovely condition… if viewed through a magnifying loupe, three faint hairline cracks are visible on the sub seconds dial. Blued steel hands and an outer minute track.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
