housed in carved giltwood lely style frame.
Sarah,daughter of Samuel Holled, married Sir William Cowper, pronounced ''cooper'' Baronet of Ratling Court and Hertford Castle.
They had a son who became
William Cowper, 1st Earl Cowper PC KC FRS (c. 1665 – 10 October 1723) an English politician
who became the first Lord Chancellor of Great Britain.
Provenance. Inherited through ten generations of the Cowper family.
overall condition is very good having had some restoration,with old lining
The frame has some losses , consistent with age.
