A Fine 19th Century Burr Walnut Empire Commode

A fine quality burr walnut French Empire, circa 1810 marble-topped commode.

Constructed with the finest burr walnut veneers this early 19th century commode has a stunning square edged marble top sitting over a top drawer with two burr walnut columns having brass cast capitals to the top and brass ring turnings to the bottom.

Set back are three burr walnut drawers with brass knob handles and pierced escutcheons plates each fitted with a fine quality fleur-de-lys twin pin lock.

Of extremely good proportions this four drawer commode has fine burr walnut sides which again shows the quality of this piece. In excellent condition having been restored using traditional methods whist retaining a splendid color this commode will work in most settings.
