Victorian Solid Silver Cream Jug - 1893

This superb SOLID SILVER CREAM JUG was made by the well-known and sought after silversmith, Henry Matthews in 1893.

Of oval form, this pretty Victorian Jug has a gadrooned design to the lower half and an embossed pattern to the upper rim with a plain band running around the centre making this a very attractive piece. The jug has a wide spout and is finished with an intricate moulded scroll handle.

Still retaining most of the original internal gilt coating and free from any added engravings, monograms or initials, this attractive jug is in excellent condition despite being almost 125 years old.
