Antique Charles 11 Country Oak Coffer C1660

Description

This is a lovely antique charles 11 country oak coffer and dating from around the time of the restoration 1660. It has a plank top that has a very old small 'let in ' repair probably done in the late 1700's (see photo). It has a canted frieze above three panels with carved diamonds to the centre. It stands on squared legs and is panelled to the sides and with its original rough hewn panelled back. It is hand and peg joined and an altogether lovely original coffer showing the charm and character of the period with good colour and patination to the oak.

It measures: 29" high X 22" deep X 52" wide
