Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The hinged lid gives access to the reservoir which is star cut to the underside. Four quill or pen holders are pierced through the top to allow them to drip any excess ink back into the reservoir. The body features a rib with banding above and below. The banding is echoed to the large flat base. A quality piece and excellent collectors item.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Full marks to body, part marks to lid and underside strap.
