A fantastic and rare oak arts and crafts/art nouveau dressing chest as originally retailed by Liberty and Co. Of superb construction in solid English oak, now with a wonderful honey tone and patina. With beautiful design features redolent of the period. The dressing mirror is fitted with a stepped pagoda top and the angle of tilt can be adjusted. Its original beveled plate now does have some foxing to the periphery. The main body of the chest is of sarcophagus shape. There is an arrangement of 3 long graduated drawers to the base and 2 small jewellery drawers within the super-structure. Fitted throughout with beautiful solid copper art nouveau period hardware (handles stamped L and Co to the reverse). This is a very rare item, I have never seen another like it. It has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops and is now offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home.
