Camden Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
These cabinets must surely have been made by a high quality London firm of cabinet makers such as Maple and Co, or Edwards and Roberts. Each cabinet has a single glazed door which opens to access the lined and shelved display space. The glass shelves can be adjusted in terms of height and the cabinet doors are lockable; keys are supplied. The cabinets are decorated with inlaid stringing throughout and also with panels of attractive veneers. The oval panels to the cupboard doors are particularly appealing being a mix of mahogany , fiddle-back mahogany, and flame mahogany veneers. They stand on elegant tapering legs which terminate in spade feet.
It is quite rare to find a pair of cabinets of this quality. They are offered for sale in excellent original condition with wonderful colour and patina.
