Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The lid is topped by a fabulous finial of furled leaves. There is a minute hairline crack where the ladle would sit, however this is difficult to see as it is so small. Please refer to the photographs. The tureen bears clear Wedgwood imprest marks for 1872. This is a highly sought after Wedgwood piece. It would add elegance to any dining table or collection of blue and white pottery.
