Description

A highly collectable match holder or vesta made from English sterling silver with a hallmark for Birmingham 1888 together with the highly sought-after Queen Victoria'a head duty mark. The makers initials are also present for the silversmith, Minshull & Latimer,

The case is in the form of a dog whistle, which works when blown. The other end has the strike on the exterior of the hinged lid. The lid is sprung and in full working order.

Excellent condition measuring 2 1/2" long x 5/8" x 1/2". A truly collectable Victorian gem.
