A most interesting 19th Century Oil Painting on Canvas, “Shipbuilding by a River” reputedly a scene

of Felixstowe, East Anglia but after further research and input by valued clients it is now believed to be of Boston Stump from the Witham, Lincolnshire.

Ca. 1880

Height: 20”, 51cms

Width: 34”, 87cms

Note: The book on early industrial art has a section on the works of G & W Cooke 1820 -1860 and there are similarities between this painting and their “Views on The Thames” produced as a set of engravings.
