Classically Decorated Mahogany Bergere Armchair

1900 - 1920
Description

A lovely inlaid mahogany bergere library armchair from the Sheraton revival period. Of good construction in solid mahogany with inlaid decoration. With canework to the seat, sides and back which is in perfect condition. The chair is decorated with hand-painted classical scenes in the style of Angelica Kaufman. The oval scene in the chair back is of cherubs and is particularly charming. This chair comes with a drop in, stuffed cushion which is removable. It is offered for sale in excellent original condition, ready to go straight into the home.
