Grand Large Antique English Sterling Silver Box - 1894

Description

A large and grand oval shaped box made from solid sterling silver with an all-over repousse decoration and fluted edges to the lid and base.

The hinged lid fits well and once opened reveals a lavishly gilded interior.

The box is fully hallmarked for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1894, making this a true Victorian example. The maker mark J.K over H.K into a shield is also present.

Excellent condition, measuring 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 2" tall. 131.4 Grams / 4.22 Troy Ounces.
