A 1920s Elgin Full Hunter Pocket Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

A 1920s Elgin full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, grade 292, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 27629748 dates it back to 1925. The grade 292 was made for quite a few years, from 1904 to 1929. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover... there are some scratches where it has been opened in the past.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is rolled gold case and is in good condition, just a small patch of wear where the cover has been repeatedly been pressed shut over the years.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens, which is in good condition. The signed white enamel dial is in good condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
