Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The collars with broad bands of anthemions and rising leaves. The handles scrolled to the top, and finished with petal heads, from which sweep leaves and berries. The handles finished to the bottom with broadening layered leaves. The vases sitting in leaf cast cup socles, above bases sweeping outward in a concave shape to bands of leaf and dart decoration. The whole on square plinth bases, finished to the bottom edge with ormolu mouldings, decorated with rising leaves and rope twist borders.
Very nice quality, in very good condition and an impressive size.
Date c 1840.
