Demountable Campaign Side Table C.1860.

19th century
Description

Rare late 19th.c military officer’s three tier campaign night stand or side table c.1860. Three oval solid mahogany shelves, two with a brass gallery around the sides and rear edge, one pierced with a large circular hole, (probably for a wash bowl). On beautifully engineered solid brass columns with finials and feet. Designed to be easily demountable to fit into an officer’s baggage, it can be reconfigured with the shelves in any order preferred. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
