Henry Sykes was a Landscape and Genre Painter. Member of the R.B.A. in 1890. In 1882 he lived at Glasgow and then at Littleover nr. Derby in 1887, London 1889 and then Rathmines, Dublin 1901.

He exhibited at many renowned Galleries & Societies including 6 x at the Royal Academy, 16 at the Royal Society of British Artists, 4 x at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours plus many more.
