Description

This is a set of six, antique dining chairs dating to the late 19th century during the aesthetic movement c.1880.

Beautifully crafted in choice cuts of walnut offering delicate beauty with robust form, the desirable graining and patina of the wood compliment the elegance and subtlety of the chair's design.

Raised on slender, tapered, turned and reeded front legs and swept, ovular section rear legs the seat rail gently bows and anchors the traditionally stuffed and upholstered seat pads. The cloth in geometric form and finished with matching brocade trim.

The stiles flare and seamlessly meet the arched crest rail which is carved and reeded around a central rosette. Similarly, the splat rail is arched and carved in good proportion bringing balance to the chair's overall form.

A desirable set of six with solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
