Description

A fine quality marquetry and pen-work inlaid Sheraton Revival antique writing desk by Edwards & Roberts Of London. Having a rectangular top with a fine marquetry floral border and an olive green inset leather writing surface with blind and gilt tooled detail and a satinwood cross banded edge. The front having an arrangement of nine mahogany lined drawers each with circular cast brass handles and the finest marquetry inlaid detail which is repeated on the pilasters. The panelled ends and reverse also with fine marquetry and pen-work inlaid detail so this desk can be free standing in the centre of a room. Supported on eight square tapering supports with brass cup castors English circa 1900
