Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
I can arrange that if you like. I would say it dates to around the 1830-50 period, but it's very hard for me to be accurate with dating Swedish furniture. It definitely has an Empire period look. I had the upholstered back panel especially made, because it had a rough open back, which was how these pieces were always made. They were made to sit along a wall, so were't meant to be seen. However, it looks much nicer like this. Also, because this sofa is so large & heavy, it needs to be dismantled in order to get it into a room. You will notice that the back section isn't sitting tight in the images. It will be delivered in four sections, plus the back panel. It all slots together in situ & then the upholstered back piece is screwed on last once everything else is tight.
