Description

This is an antique, Edwardian, marble top wash stand in mahogany dating to c.1910.

In fine proportion, of superior quality and rare to find one this size, this washstand is delightful as is or could be easily adapted for the modern bathroom if desired.

Raised on tapering square section legs terminating in brass castors, the twin door cabinet offers generous storage within.

The geometrically field panelled doors display good grain detail framed with boxwood crossbanding within fine ebony stringing, the doors dressed with brass loop pulls in the form of garlands over pierced brass back plates.

The attractive thick marble top is heavily veined and complimented by a similar upstand supported by shaped mahogany brackets and topped with a linear pediment with crossbanding mirroring the door detail.
