Description

This antique mahogany roll top desk is a nice compact size & in good original condition, dating from around the 1910-20's period. It's also very well made with some nice features. This desk looks great from all angles. The back, inside back & sides are all panelled. This desk comes apart for easy transportation. The top lifts off, the middle panel comes out, then the two pedestals separate. Once its together, even without putting any screws in, this desk is very stable. It also sits on casters under the plinths, so can be moved around easily. Inside the desk top behind the roller shutter, are smaller drawers, pigeon holes & slide out pen drawers. There is a hand coloured tooled leather writing surface. The base pedestals have pull out ledges either side of the centre drawer. There is a double filing drawer on the right & all the drawers have the original wooden handles. One other special feature is the central locking mechanism. When the roll top goes all the way back up, it unlocks all the drawers.
