Japanese Meiji Period Shodana

1900 - 1920
Description

A large Meiji period Japanese shodana. Having an arrangement of 4 sliding doors, 2 hinged doors, 1 drawer and 3 oval panels all with with blue lacquer ground and inlaid and onlaid ivory, bone and mother of pearl. All the panels show naturalistic scenes with trees, flowers, birds and streams etc. The whole having carved decoration throughout and various shelves for display. In overall good condition with slight discolouration to some of the lacquer panels.

Sizes - Height 87.5'' / 222cm. Max width 53.5'' / 136cm. Depth 13'' / 33cm.
