Late Victorian Door Knocker

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a wonderful heavy brass ornate door knocker dating from around the late Victorian - early 20th Century period.

It weighs 1.5 kgs! It is in excellent condition and has been lightly polished by us.

The door knocker measures 31.5cm in length in total; the back plate is 14.5cm, and the 'knocker' itself is 16cm in width across the bottom of the handle and 12cm in length down the sides.

The big screw at the back is approximately 5cm in length.

There is one big screw fixing attached, and a purpose made hole at the top (see main photo) for another screw.

It is missing the brass round or square plate to attach to the door for the knocker to strike, but they are easily found in hardware shops, or it is possible, it used to strike an area of the door and didn't have a brass plate.

Postage and packing within the UK mainland only is included in the price, and for other areas and abroad, please contact us for a quote for delivery.
