Description

Narrow early 20th.c. French semainier chest of drawers c.1920. So called because it has seven drawers, one for each day of the week. Ideal for clothes, accessories or even filing Just 27" wide with a serpentine front. Original and beautifully figured marble top with shaped and moulded edge. Symmetrically arranged kingwood veneers with inlaid stringing and crossbanded borders to the drawer fronts and sides. Shaped apron and legs. Original and crisply cast brass handles, escutcheon plates and mounts to the apron and feet. With a paper label for Odoul of Paris below the marble. Some old wear and repairs to the veneers. Generally excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
