Regency Mahogany Writing Cabinet. Circa 1815

Description

Fine Regency veneered mahogany writing cabinet with tambour cylinder top opening to reveal drawers and pigeon holes. Below writing surface is pull out writing slide. The bow fronted base having double tambours to cupboard. Each side of base are sphinx headed match striker columns onto carved paw feet. All tambours are framed with brass moulding and has a brass fancy gallery. Writing surfaces and sides are veneered in paired angles. All in fine condition. Brass knobs are old replacements. Fine rich colour with good waxed patina. A most attractive and unusual piece of furniture.

Size; 26" wide, 40" high, 21" deep. 29" high to writing surfaces.
