Antique English Silver Plate Revolving Butter Dish by Fenton Brothers C.1880

Description

A wonderful revolving butter dish with the domed top and stands on a naturalistic frame with integral handles and legs in the form of twigs or sticks. The lid has a wonderful button knob to the front to open the lid, and a pin on a chain to keep the lid secure. The tray within is where the butter would sit with ice beneath to keep it nice and cool.

The underside is where a full mark can be found for the well renowned Fenton Brother of Sheffield.

Elegant and very usable in excellent condition, measuring 8 1/2" handle to handle and 5 1/2" deep (inc. Ivory knob) x 4 1/4" tall.
