Description

An 18th Century Delft Charger.

The slightly sloping rim painted with swept lattice background from which rising flowers grow toward the centre, the lattice panels divided by stylized flowering bulbs. The centre of the charger panted with an oriental scene, as two gentlemen meet on a bridge, the shore with a large open garden house set amongst rocks and cherry trees. Across the lake another house can be seen within a wooded landscape.

Date c 1750.
