Good Quality Silver Waltham Pocket Watch, 1903

An antique silver Waltham pocket watch, 1903.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement with jewelled pallets, Church 1892 Starwheel regulator and damascening, all major extra expense at the time of manufacture. The movement is working well. It is fully signed and the serial number 11456352 dates it back to 1902. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both case backs for Birmingham 1903 with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison who was heavily involved in Waltham before emigrating to the UK to set up a watch case manufacturing company. The front and sides of the case are in lovely condition. The back has a slight unevenness and some light surface marks, nothing too detrimental.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The white enamel dial has two or three very faint short hairlines, just about visible with a magnifying loupe.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
